03/12/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission's audit report on EU funds for the Czech Republic confirms that Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš is in a conflict of interest, according to the weekly newspaper Respekt of 3 December, which claims to have had access to the report (see EUROPE 12267/4). The Commission has confirmed that it has sent the audit report on cohesion policy funds to the Czech authorities. The country has 2 months to respond to the Commission's recommendations. In addition, the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament asked Commissioner Johannes Hahn to publish the audit report. The Parliament Committee on Budgetary Control will discuss this case on Thursday 5 December. (LC)
