Member States invited to strengthen fight against environmental crime

On Tuesday, 3 December, the European Ministers of Justice took note of the final report of the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the EU on the eighth round of mutual reviews relating to criminal matters, which concentrated on environmental crime(see EUROPE B12380A6).

The report focuses on two forms of criminal activity: illegal trafficking of waste and the illegal production or handling of hazardous materials. It makes several recommendations that Member States are invited to follow in...
