05/11/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Court of Justice of the European Union ruled on Tuesday 5 November that the appeal brought by Latvian bank Trasta Komercbanka was admissible and well-founded. It therefore referred the case back to the EU General Court for a decision on the merits of the action for annulment of the European Central Bank’s (ECB) decision to withdraw Trasta Komercbanka’s authorisation. Liquidated in 2016 for money laundering, this bank is cited in a case of attempted corruption by the Governor of the Latvian Central Bank, Ilmārs Rimšēvičs, rehabilitated by the Court pending a decision by the Latvian judiciary (see EUROPE 12202/23).
