Discussions on an agreement on geographical indications between the European Union and China have entered a new phase: their conclusion at the World Trade Organization's mini-ministerial conference in early November in Shanghai is now possible.
In their joint statement at the end of the EU-China Summit in April 2019, the parties promised to conclude this part of their bilateral negotiations before the end of the year (see EUROPE B12300A21, B12232A7), (EUROPE B12230A13).
