On Wednesday 23 October, the European Commission presented the results of the third review of the transatlantic data protection mechanism, the 'Privacy Shield', which was launched in Washington on 12 September (see EUROPE B12327A24).
The evaluation report confirms that the United States continues to ensure an "adequate level of protection" for personal data transferred from the EU to US companies participating in the Privacy Shield framework.
