The European Parliament's Civil Liberties Committee (LIBE) adopted a resolution, on the evening of 21 October in Strasbourg urging Member States to do more in terms of search and rescue at sea. The resolution will be debated in plenary on Wednesday 23rd and then voted on Thursday 24th. But the EPP group said, on Tuesday 22 October, that it will oppose it and will present an alternative resolution that is not expected to garner enough support.
