01/10/2019 (Agence Europe) – This time, it happened: the Parliamentary Committee on Culture and Education finally validated, on Tuesday 1 October, the candidacy of Fidesz MEP Andrea Bocksor (Hungary) as 4th Vice-President (see EUROPE 12301/24). At the request of the Greens/EFA group and with the support of the EPP, Renew Europe and the GUE/NGL, the vote was held by secret ballot. 15 MEPs voted in favour of his candidacy, 10 opposed it, while 5 abstained. Committee chair Sabine Verheyen (EPP, Germany) welcomed the fact that a negotiated solution had been found.
