18/09/2019 (Agence Europe) – There are currently 51 million "dirty" diesel cars, i.e. those with nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions at least twice the limit (for NEDC tests) or at least three times the limit (for real data) on EU roads, denounces a report by the Transport & Environment (T&E) organisation published on Wednesday 18 September. According to the report, this represents an 18% increase over the last 12 months and a 74% increase since 2016. Nearly one-fifth of these polluting vehicles are reported to be found in Germany (9.9 million), France (9.8 million) and the United Kingdom (8.5 million). For T&E, these figures show that, four years after Dieselgate, major automakers continue to sell diesel vehicles that do not meet NOx emission limits, and thus "put profit before clean air".
