The European Commissioner for Employment and Social Affairs, Marianne Thyssen, stressed to the relevant G20 ministers at a meeting in Mitsuyama, Japan, from 1 to 2 September, the importance of the role of the social partners in addressing the major challenges of the 21st century, including ageing populations, gender equality and also changing working conditions.
