Commission decides to renew anti-dumping duties on imports of Chinese tungsten electrodes

30/07/2019 (Agence Europe)On Monday 29 July, the European Commission announced its decision to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of tungsten electrodes originating in China. An expiry review was initiated in May 2018, as the European industry was concerned that expiry of the measures would lead to continuation of the damage it had suffered. At the end of its investigation, which all of the Chinese stakeholders chose not to take part in, the Commission confirmed that significant distortions existed, with the Chinese authorities closely controlling and regulating the tungsten industry. On the basis of its conclusions relating to the likelihood of continued dumping and damage to the industry, and with the European Union’s interests in mind, the Commission decided to maintain the anti-dumping measures on these imports. This duty ranges between 17% and 63.5%. To read the implementing regulation, go to: https://bit.ly/2Oueqep (HD
