EU extends economic sanctions for 6 months

27/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday, 27 June, the Council of the EU extended economic sanctions against Russia, by written procedure, for 6 months up to 31 January 2020, because of Russia’s failure to implement the Minsk agreements. These measures, first adopted on 31 July 2014 (see EUROPE B11133A2), and expanded in September of the same year (see EUROPE 11153A13), target the financial, energy, defence, and dual-use goods sectors.
