21/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European External Action Service announced on Thursday 20 June that the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will meet in Vienna on Friday 28 June at the level of the E3+2 political directors (Germany, France, United Kingdom, China and Russia) and the EEAS Secretary General, Helga Schmid. “The meeting has been called with the intention of ensuring the continued implementation of the JCPOA in all its aspects and discuss ways to tackle challenges arising from the withdrawal and re-imposition of sanctions by the United States on Iran, as well as recent announcements by Iran regarding the implementation of its nuclear commitments”, the EEAS summarised. Iran announced that it would exceed the limit specified in the agreement on enriched uranium reserves on 27 June, while the United States continues to put pressure on Tehran. (CG)
