04/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Greens/EFA announced on Tuesday 4 June that five MEPs had joined their political group in the European Parliament. Although the European Parliament's projections after the European elections, based on the structure of the groups existing in the 2014-2019 parliamentary term, foresaw that the Greens/EFA group would include 69 MEPs for the next parliamentary term, they will reportedly be at least 74 due to this. This disposition was anticipated, as announced in our last issue (see EUROPE 12267/1) and negotiations are underway with other parliamentarians to further expand the group's ranks. The five MEPs joining the Greens/EFA group are Marcel Kolaja, Markéta Gregorová and Mikuláš Peksa of the Czech Pirate Party, Patrick Breyer of the German Pirate Party and Nico Semsrott of the German Party for Work, Rule of Law, Animal Welfare, Elitism and Democratic Initiative.
