European Parliament gives green light to interinstitutional agreement on risk reduction package

16/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 16 April, the European Parliament approved the Interinstitutional Agreement on four legislative texts aimed at reducing financial risks in the banking system (see EUROPE B12152A4, B12150A11). Prudential rules incorporate the international TLAC standard into EU law and modify those on the hierarchy of creditors mobilised in the event of bank failure.
