EU Commission launches new database on EU geographical indications

On Monday 1 April, the European Commission announced the launch of a new public database to facilitate access to information on EU Geographical Indications, including their status, their product specification, and a direct link to the legal basis when they are officially protected. 

This database is called ‘eAmbrosia – the EU Geographical Indications registers’.

Development of the database will be carried out in three phases.
