18/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Monday, 18 March, the European Commission unveiled a roadmap for clean vehicles to promote connected, automated and CO2-free mobility. The document recalls that the institution had come up with three sets of proposals along these lines, namely the three 'mobility' packages (see EUROPE 11799/6, 11900/2, 12022/11), some files being blocked and others stalled. The Commission and national experts have identified three areas of action to ensure that road vehicles are clean and safe in the future. These include, in particular, the effective implementation of the rules resulting from the type-approval regulation (see EUROPE 11921/2), the renewal of vehicle fleets, the improvement of vehicle recall procedures and the provision of information to consumers.
