18/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – In the aftermath of the terrorist attack on a Malian Armed Forces camp in Dioura (central Mali), on Monday 18 March, the EU expressed its "sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the victims and to the Government of Mali" and wished "a speedy recovery to the injured”. The attack killed at least 21 Malian soldiers and injured many others. "Those responsible for this attack must be brought to justice as soon as possible,” said the spokeswoman for the European External Action Service in a statement. The EU pays tribute to Mali's armed and security forces and confirms that it “stands by Mali's side, with the other G5 Sahel countries, MINUSMA and Operation Barkhane, and the entire international community in the fight against the terrorist threat in the Sahel”.
