European Parliament Committee endorses compromise text on swordfish reintroduction plan

19/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 19 February, Parliament's Committee on Fisheries approved (21 votes in favour and 2 against) the agreement between EU institutions on the proposal for a multi-annual reintroduction programme for Mediterranean swordfish stock (see EUROPE 12143). This plan was adopted in 2016 by the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT). It now needs to be incorporated into EU law.
