11/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 11 February, EU Finance Ministers supported the candidacy of the current Governor of the Irish Central Bank, Philip Lane, for the post of Member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank (ECB). Mr Lane was the only candidate running to succeed Peter Praet, member of the Executive Board and Chief Economist of the ECB, whose term of office will expire on 31 May (see EUROPE 12189, 12183).
