05/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – Czech MEPs Pavel Telička and Petr Ježek, members of the ALDE group, both of whom recently left ANO, announced on Tuesday 5 February the creation of their new political force in the Czech Republic called Hlas (Voice). According to their statement, this new movement, which will participate in the May European elections, "aims to establish itself as an open political platform that stands for the principles of liberal democracy, market economy and European integration”. The sociologist Martin Převrátil and the lawyer Aleš Novák are also co-founders and members of the Hlas preparatory committee. “We would like to make sure that our country has a voice based on reason and responsibility”, said Mr Telička, European Parliament Vice-President, who is concerned about a rise in populism in his country.
