The European Commission sent a statement of objections on Thursday 31 January to eight banks which, from 2007 to 2012, may have distorted competition in the acquisition and trading of European Government Bonds (EGB).
The institution fears that, over this period, possible exchanges between traders concerning sensitive commercial information and strategy coordination actions may have created a distortion of competition in the context of EGB acquisitions and negotiations.
