16/01/2019 (Agence Europe) – The French socialists and republicans are gradually getting ready for battle in the European elections in May. The Socialist Party is still in discussion with potential partners, including both political parties and civil society partners. Several current MEPs would like to stand for re-election, including Christine Revault D’Allonnes Bonnefoy, Éric Andrieu, Sylvie Guillaume and Karine Gloanec Maurin. The list is expected to be submitted in early February. Completion of the Republican party’s schedule is imminent and its list should be submitted at the end of January or the beginning of February. While the make-up of the list is still not known, several MEPs have expressed their willingness to stand down at the election, including Renaud Muselier, Michel Dantin, Maurice Ponga and Alain Lamassoure.
