16/01/2019 (Agence Europe) – Following the terrorist attack perpetrated the previous day against a hotel complex in Nairobi (Dusit complex), killing at least 5 people and injuring several others, the EU expressed on Wednesday, 16 January its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the Kenyan authorities and its wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured, in a statement issued by the spokesperson of the European External Action Service. The EU has also ensured the continuation of its “support to the government” in the fight against terrorism. He recalled that “Kenya’s stand against terrorism, at home and abroad, is a necessary fight against a challenge that we all face – being it in Africa, Europe or in the rest of the world”. The attack was claimed by Somali shebabs. (AN)
