On Tuesday 8 January, the European Commission invited Italy and Spain to provide for a corporate tax regime for the economic activities of ports, in order to bring the two Member States into line with EU state aid rules.
This recommendation follows concerns already raised by the institution last April regarding the regimes applied by Rome and Madrid.
