A study examines trade instruments to assist refugees and their host countries

19/12/2018 (Agence Europe) – The Ontario-based Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) released a report on Thursday 13 December examining what trade policy options the international community can pursue to help refugees and their host countries. In order to alleviate the "enormous financial and social costs" borne by these countries, trade measures, such as reducing tariffs on goods produced by refugees, could provide a sustainable response, according to the study.
