29/11/2018 (Agence Europe) – The truck drivers' unions, represented by the European Transport Workers' Federation (ETF), are preparing for action ahead of the Transport Council meeting on Monday 3 December, where EU Transport Ministers will try to agree on the highly sensitive items in the first mobility package, i.e. social and market issues (see EUROPE 12148). At a press conference on Thursday 29 November, union representatives expressed their disagreement with the latest draft compromises presented by Vienna. "The proposals on the table are not good proposals", said ETF President, Frank Moreels. Union action is expected on 3 December in front of the Council buildings, where ministers will be debating. (LT)
