Council adopts two 'VAT' directives

06/11/2018 (Agence Europe) – At the 'Economic and Financial Affairs' Council of Tuesday 6 November, the Council of the EU adopted the directive that will bring the VAT rules into line for electronic publications and physical books (see EUROPE 11750). This means that member states may now apply reduced, heavily reduced or zero VAT rates to electronic publications as well. On the same day, it also adopted the directive authorising certain member states to carry out pilot reverse-charge VAT...
