11/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – The European Shippers' Council (ESC) welcomes, in a statement of Monday 8 October, the European Commission's proposal of last 17 May for a revision of Directive 2010/65/EU establishing a European maritime single window environment, as part of the third mobility package (see EUROPE 12022). The Commission intends in particular to set up a list of elements and a harmonised interface relating to the elements requested on entering or leaving a port. The ESC requests that the co-legislators provide clarifications on interactions and harmonisation between the different national systems. This is in order to "avoid contradictions and guarantee the accomplishment of the proposal’s objectives". As a reminder, the Austrian Presidency of the EU Council put a first draft compromise on the table last month (see EUROPE 12103). (LT)
