08/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – Electricity and gas prices vary by a factor of three in the EU for individuals, according to the annual report of the European Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER), published on 3 October. The difference is even greater for industrial consumers, who pay four times more for electricity and five times more for gas in countries with the highest energy prices, explains ACER. Average electricity and gas prices for private individuals fell slightly in 2017, by 0.4% and 3.3% respectively. For industrialists, electricity and gas prices remained stable. The portion of prices that is not linked to energy costs (support for renewables, taxes) continues to increase. (LC)
