Green light from ESM for early repayment of €3 billion

20/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 20 September, the Board of Directors of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) approved a request from Madrid to make an early repayment of €3 billion for Spain's debts.  This is the ninth time that Spain will proceed this way to repay the loans it had with the ESM between December 2012 and February 2013 to recapitalise the country's banking sector for €41.3 billion.  After the repayment of this €3 billion, Spain will have to repay the...
