Interinstitutional negotiations on the proposal setting up the centralised system on the criminal records of people from outside the EU (ECRIS-TCN) seems to be on track.
In July, the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU said it wanted to make rapid progress and conclude the dossier by the end of September if possible (see EUROPE 12059). A European source says the technical meetings that took place in early September were deemed ‘positive.’
