31/08/2018 (Agence Europe) – Seasonally-corrected unemployment stood at 8.2% in July in the eurozone, accruing to the EU's statistical office, Eurostat on Friday 31 August. This is the lowest level registered in the eurozone since November 2008, said Eurostat in a press release. In the EU as a whole, unemployment was 6.8 % in July 2018, here too the lowest rate since April 2008. The country with the highest unemployment is still Greece (19.5 %) and the country with the lowest is the Czech Republic (2.3 %). The greatest falls in unemployment were registered in Cyprus (by 10.7 % to 7.7 % between May 2017 and May 2018), Greece (by 21.7 % to 19.5 %), Portugal (by 8.9 % to 6.8 %) and Croatia (by 10.9 % to 8.8 %).
