30/08/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 20 August, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini announced that she had received 33 proposals for new projects as part of permanent structured cooperation (PESCO). "We have 17 projects already in implementation and 33 new proposals for new projects", she said at the end of the informal meeting of defence ministers in Vienna, adding that the decision on the projects to be selected would be made "by November for sure". "The technical assessment is currently being done, so I will present them formally with a recommendation in the coming weeks", she said. Mogherini stated that the ministers had also begun a discussion on the participation of third countries in PESCO projects, hoping for a decision or conclusions by the end of 2018. (CG)
