16/07/2018 (Agence Europe) – A delegation of eight members of the European Parliament's special committee on financial crimes, tax evasion and tax avoidance (TAX 3) will be in Washington from 16 to 18 July to meet several representatives of Congress, the Ministry of Justice and the Treasury, as well as of the IMF and the World Bank. On the agenda: transatlantic cooperation in the fight against financial crime and improving tax transparency. The delegation will also discuss topical matters such as the taxation of the digital sector, the recent American tax reform and risks of money laundering posed by crypto-currencies. It is worth noting that the MEPs are also expected to meet the representatives of Apple who, as readers may recall, refused to attend a Parliament hearing at the end of June (see EUROPE 12046). (MF)
