In compliance with what was forecast by its 2018 work programme, the European Commission decided on Tuesday 3 July, to withdraw 15 proposals still pending and for which no agreement has been outlined or which are superfluous or have been technically superseded.
The Commission has indicated that it had consulted the European Parliament and Council before withdrawing these texts in the following domains: agriculture (direct payments); economic and financial affairs, taxation and customs (own resources based on value added tax, structural measures to improve the robustness of the EU credit institutions); internal market, industry, entrepreneurship and SMEs (Simplification of the transfer of unregistered motor vehicles in another member state); International development cooperation (EU accession to the international cotton advisory committee); justice, consumers and gender equality (single person companies with limited liability); - maritime and fishing affairs (multiannual plan for herring stock in western Scotland, Community control system; migration, internal affairs and citizenship (visa roaming and visa codes; transport - aerodromes and air traffic management.
