Polish gas group PGNiG welcomes Stockholm tribunal ruling in dispute with Gazprom

03/07/2018 (Agence Europe)On Saturday 30 June, Polish gas group PGNiG welcomed the ruling in its favour in the partial award delivered by the Arbitral Tribunal of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce in the dispute that has been on-going since 2015 with Russian gas group Gazprom over their Yamal supply contract. The Swedish court ruled that the contractual condition for PGNiG to demand a reduction in the price of the long-term contract under which gas is supplied to Poland by Gazprom (the so-called Yamal Contract) had been met. “For years, Gazprom has rejected any possibility of such a revision, and as a result the contract price for PGNiG has significantly exceeded prices on Western European markets”, the Polish gas group said in a press release.  (EH)
