The European Commission adopted three proposals on Monday 2 July on the new protocol to the fisheries agreement between the EU and Côte d’Ivoire.
The new protocol was initialled on 16 March and covers a period of six years (2018-2024) from the date of its provisional application, i.e. from the date on which it was signed. The main aim of the new protocol is to provide fishing opportunities for EU vessels in Côte d’Ivoire waters, based on the best available scientific advice.
