20/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – The threats for security and peace posed by climate change will be the focus of an international conference convened by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini in Brussels on Friday 22 June to highlight this issue in climate negotiations. Discussions will be centred on two themes: - “Indispensable multilateralism: a shared responsibility to prepare” and “Treating causes and symptoms together: integrating action on climate, security and development”. Speakers include Frank Bainimarama, Prime Minister of Fiji, Margot Wallström, Swedish Foreign Minister, Rose Gottemoeller, NATO Deputy Secretary General, Patricia Espinosa, Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC, Xie Zhenhua, Special Representative for Climate Change of China and Josefa Correia Sacko, member of the African Union Commission.
