08/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 8 June, the chair of the European Parliament's civil liberties committee, Claude Moraes (S&D, UK), sent a letter to Facebook's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, containing a list of representatives from the group who are asked to come to the next two hearings at the European Parliament on the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Those invited to the hearing on 25 June, include Erin Egan, responsible for privacy protection, Joel Kaplan, responsible for international public policy, and Rob Goldman, responsible for publicity. Austrian activist Max Schrems is also among those invited. For the third hearing, planned for Strasbourg on 2 July, Facebook's COO, Sheryl Sandberg, is asked to attend, alongside several European commissioners. With the invitations now sent, the Parliament awaits the acceptances. (MF)
