Use of renewables lagging behind globally in transport and heating-cooling

Renewables are increasingly being used in electricity generation but continue to lag behind in the transport and the heating and cooling sectors, which together account for 80% of final energy demand, states REN21, the global renewable energy policy network, in a report published on Monday 4 June.
