MEPs call for greater representation of women in media sector

17/04/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 17 April, MEPs adopted a non-legislative resolution on gender equality in the media sector within the European Union. The text was drafted by Michaela Šojdrová (EPP, Czech Republic) and calls on the member states to fully implement existing legislation on gender equality and to encourage inspection bodies to monitor the participation of women in the media sector, which currently employs more than 1 million people in the EU.
