12/04/2018 (Agence Europe) – The results of the European Professional Card are encouraging, according to a report published by the European Commission on Monday 9 April. The report shows that the national authorities and professional bodies consider that the card is working well and that it has helped to reinforce professional mobility. The card has “provided added value compared to traditional [professional] recognition processes”, the report also observes. At the end of November 2017, more than 4,000 applications had been submitted and around 1,750 cards issued. The card, which was launched in 2016 (see EUROPE 11470), aims to facilitate professional mobility for members of certain highly mobile professions, such as nurses, pharmacists, mountain guides and real estate agents.
