EU28 in search of balance between rapid expansion of digital economy and protection of privacy online

Forced to take a position on the Cambridge Analytica affair (see other article), the European leaders reasserted their resolve, on Thursday 22 March, to apply European and national rules so that social networks and digital platforms respect "total protection of privacy and citizens' personal data".
