On Tuesday 20 March, the chair of the Single Resolution Board (SRB), Elke König, appeared at a hearing of the committee on economic and monetary affairs of the European Parliament.
During the hearing, König referred to the recent case of the Latvian bank ABLV, which has been hit by accusations of money laundering. Its payments were frozen by the ECB (see EUROPE 11964) on 19 February and it was declared failing or likely to fail a few days later (see EUROPE 11969).
