12/12/2017 (Agence Europe) – On the evening of Monday 11 December, the European External Action Service (EEAS) announced that a regular meeting of the mixed committee on the joint global action plan (JGAP) would be held in Vienna on 13 December. The EEAS explains that as ever, the meeting will provide an opportunity to examine implementation of the JG in terms of nuclear issues and sanctions. The US Congress has not voted on the deadline of December 12, for the reintroduction of sanctions, after the non-certification of the agreement by the US President on October 13 (see EUROPE 11883). Congress had 60 days to decide. The mixed committee will be chaired by the EEA’s secretary general, Helga Schmid, and will comprise members of the E3+3 (Germany, France, the United Kingdom, China, the United States and Russia), along with Iran.
