12/12/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 11 December, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini hailed the holding of a Gulf Cooperation Council on 5 and 6 December, noting that she expected further measures to find a way within the council for Gulf states (CGS) to cooperate with each other and with others, including the EU. She told a press conference that she greatly appreciated the EU CGS bilateral relations as a forum and had supported and would continue to support work, particularly by the Emir of Kuwait, to safeguard and protect the forum which the EU feels is essential for cooperation in the Gulf. Qatar is accused by some members of the CGS of supporting terrorism. (CG)
