The British banking system will continue to support the real economy, even in the event of a disorderly Brexit. This is the conclusion of the Bank of England (BoE), in its report on financial stability for 2017, which was published on Tuesday 28 November, alongside the results of its annual stress tests on the banks under its supervision.
Since it began its stress tests in 2014, this is the first time that no bank has needed to increase its capital, the BoE reports.
