27/11/2017 (Agence Europe) – In an interview with German newspaper Handelsblatt, published on Monday 27 November, Managing Director of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) Klaus Regling said that, in his view, Greece is unlikely to need all of the €86 billion available from the ESM under the third bailout package expected to be concluded in August of next year. While medium-term debt relief measures will depend on the involvement of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) (see EUROPE 11861), Regling added that they would only be possible if the Greek government implemented all the reforms asked of it, notably in the public sector and on the labour market (see EUROPE 11983).
