EESC wants civil society consultative committee to monitor EU-Japan free trade agreement

During a seminar organised by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) on Thursday 26 October, civil society organisations agreed on the geo-strategic importance of the free trade agreement between the EU and Japan, and on its positive impact for the two economies, but some of the organisations deplored the lack of transparency in the negotiations with regard to public opinion.
