Christos Stylianides on ground to assess humanitarian needs in Rohingya crisis

European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides is currently on a two-day visit to Bangladesh (31 October-1 November) to assess the situation on the ground and visit EU aid projects that are addressing the Rohingya refugee crisis.

His visit comes a week after the EU and its member states pledged to mobilise another €30 million in emergency aid for this Muslim minority in Burma/Myanmar who have been forced into mass exodus.  The emergency aid is...
